Comedian and actor Kevin Hart says he'll straighten up his act. And he's not being funny.
Los Angeles traffic police arrested the stand-up comic on "suspicion" of drunken driving early Sunday.
They observed him speeding down a freeway at 90 mph in his black Mercedes, weaving across traffic lanes and almost running into a gas tanker truck, the California Highway Patrol said in a statement.
When patrol officers pursued him, he took an off ramp and pulled over, police said.
"Mr. Hart had objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform the field sobriety tests," the statement read.
The comedian later tweeted: "When the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said 'WHY WASTE OUR TIME ... I'M DRUNK MAN.'"
Police booked him into jail and held him on a $5,000 bond.

"This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't ... everything happens for a reason," he tweeted Sunday.
In a stand-up routine in his 2011 movie "Laugh At My Pain," Hart lampooned his father's alleged embarrassing behavior due to a drug addiction.
But he does not make light of his own intoxicated behavior.
"Drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid ... this!," he said on his verified Twitter account.
Hart has been in various movies, including "Think Like a Man" and "The Five-Year Engagement." He's also appeared in television shows, including "Modern Family."

Kevin Hart arrested on suspicion of drunk driving

Los Angeles Times,

Actor-comedian Kevin Hart was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 4:30 a.m., the "Think Like a Man" actor was allegedly speeding down the westbound 101 Freeway in a black Mercedes SLS at 90 mph. A CHP statement said that the car was "driving erratic," weaving across lanes and nearly collided with a gas tanker trunk. CHP officers pursued Hart, and he eventually pulled over at the Haskell Avenue exit.
"Mr. Hart had objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform the field sobriety tests," the statement said.
Hart was arrested on suspicion of a DUI and was transported and booked into the LAPD's Valley Jail in Van Nuys at 5:59 a.m, according to jail records. He was released on $5,000 bond at 1:19 p.m and faces a court date on May 9.
But the "Five-Year Engagement" and "Laugh at My Pain" actor didn't seem too fazed by the incident.
"I was actually drunk, so there's no arguing that," Hart told TMZ as he was leaving jail.
He added that his girlfriend was with him during the incident, and cops said that he was resisting arrest when he asked for his wristwatch to be removed as they were handcuffing him.
Hart later took to Twitter to rehash the incident with some humor.
"When the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said 'WHY WASTE OUR TIME ... I'M DRUNK MAN," Hart  said (via CNN) in a tweet that has since been removed.
However, he quickly changed his tune.
"On some real ... drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid ... this!" he wrote, later adding, "This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't....everything happens for a reason...."
